Unprocessed Aluminum: The Core of The Rivet Series

At the heart of the Rivet Series creation lies unprocessed aluminum, meticulously shaped with precision and dedication. Through laser precision and manual assembly, simple geometric forms emerge, imparting an open and honest aesthetic to the collection. Frama's design studio, housed in a former pharmacy near a picturesque church, preserves the original woodwork and architecture, where the majority of their collection comes to life.

Frama embraces the concept of 'archetypes' in their design process, using an initial form as the basis for all other models. The return to basic principles characterizes Frama's design approach, featuring calm colors, clean lines, and the use of natural materials in their creations. Especially recommended in Frama's portfolio is the Rivet collection, along with the Adam collection.

Innovative Riveting Technique for Design Furniture Pieces

The Rivet Series distinguishes itself with sharp angles, round shapes, straight lines, and the prominent use of aluminum. Due to the difficulty of bending and screwing aluminum, an innovative application of the riveting technique was introduced. This involves joining aluminum plates with rivets, resulting not only in a robust construction but also in a visual aesthetic that deviates from the traditional. This experimental use of the riveting technique is clearly visible in the Rivet Side Table, where functionality and form converge, and the Rivet Shelf wall shelf, available in various sizes, offering a choice between small and large based on individual preference.

Design History of The Rivet Series by Frama

The origin story of the Rivet Series began in 2011 at Statens Værksteder for Kunst, where, after difficulties with welding aluminum sheets, Jonas Trampedach discovered the innovative riveting technique suitable for creating 90-degree connections between individual plates. This discovery marked a turning point in the design process, giving the Rivet Series its unique features and industrial aesthetics. Frama's Rivet Series not only offers a functional collection but also presents an expressive and innovative design that challenges conventions.
